With over two decades of experience teaching in Hong Kong international schools, Ms. Lee brings extensive expertise in international Chinese education and IB curriculum development, supporting students in building strong language abilities and succeeding in international learning environments.

 

Extensive Experience in Chinese Education and IB Curriculum Teaching

Ms. Lee graduated from the Chinese Department of National Taiwan Normal University and holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from The University of Queensland and a Master of Arts in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. With over two decades of experience teaching Chinese in Hong Kong international schools, she has worked with students across different proficiency levels, including CFL, CSL, Near-native, and First Language classes. She specializes in MYP, GCSE, IGCSE, and IBDP Chinese B (Standard Level & Higher Level) curriculum design and instruction.

In addition to her teaching experience, Ms. Lee had served as a practicum mentor at the Faculty of Education of The University of Hong Kong and The Education University of Hong Kong, contributing to the development of future Chinese language educators. Her extensive experience in Chinese education and teacher development brings valuable expertise to Dadi Education’s IB Chinese programs.

 

Helping Parents Better Understand IB Chinese Learning

At a recent IB Chinese Learning and Teaching Expert Sharing Session held at Dadi Education Central Campus, Ms. Lee shared insights into IB Chinese learning expectations, assessment requirements, and effective approaches for supporting students’ progress.

Ms. Lee highlighted that success in IB Chinese goes beyond vocabulary and language accuracy. Students need to develop deeper reading comprehension,   communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to connect language learning with current affairs and broader social topics. She also shared how students’ Chinese learning evolves from PYP to MYP, as they gradually move from everyday communication towards academic language and critical thinking. Building regular reading habits, expanding knowledge through different cultural contexts, and developing independent learning skills are essential steps in preparing students for future academic challenges.
